Olivia Wilde can celebrate her first legal victory against Jason Sudeikis in relation to the custody of her children. A situation that came to court, after, according to the filmmaker, the star of "Ted Lasso" did not comply with the idea that he had agreed that his children will finish the school year in Los Angeles, while he was filming the last season of the series in London.
This change of opinion was the one that generated a legal battle for the custody of Otis (8) and Daisy (5) and that this Wednesday had good news for the current partner of Harry Styles. A judge granted Olivia Wilde's request to dismiss Jason Sudeikis' request to move the trial from California to New York.
The actor had filed a petition, in October 2021, in which he indicated his desire to be able to raise his children in the Big Apple, the city where they lived before their separation , according to data obtained by the Daily Mail . But the judge hearing the case chose to agree with Olivia Wilde.
“Both Justice Powell and this arbitrator agreed that New York was not the state of origin of the children in question ; but that California was the state of origin of the children”, was the decision to which Page Six had access, a document that added that “this court determines that New York does not have jurisdiction to hear custody petitions, since New York does not it is the state of origin of the children in question.”
A victory that comes just as the reaction of the actress was revealed was served with custody papers when she took the stage at CinemaCon in April to present her upcoming film "Don't Worry Darling" in which she stars current partner.
Olivia Wilde: "Jason's actions were intended to threaten me"
Olivia Wilde filed her own court papers in Los Angeles, accusing Jason Sudeikis of trying to " threaten me and catch me off guard . " " He could have treated me discreetly, but instead, he chose to treat me in the most aggressive way possible," he said, adding: "The fact that Jason embarrassed me professionally and put our personal conflict on public display in this way is extremely contrary to the best interests of our children.”
The actor's version assures that it was not his intention that the documents be delivered to him like this and he regretted what happened , but confessed that he did not want the legal papers to be sent to Harry Styles' house either "because Otis and Daisy could be present".
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis were engaged for seven years before calling it quits in November 2020.
